We have been providing value-based health care to the Boston Chinatown’s community for over 50 years and have expanded our delivery of care into the cities of Quincy and Malden. We now offer many services including medical, dental, optometry, obstetrics and gynecology, behavioral health, imaging, and many other services.

Location: Boston

Available Shifts:

Monday to Friday, 40 hours/week

Pay Scale: Starting $22/hour

Essential Functions and Job Duties:

• Provides concrete services to patients/families, such as application for government benefits.
• Provides interpretive services to clients/patients and their families.
• Work as an advocate for patients and their families in bill adjustments, insurance acquisition, and related social service’s needs.
• Works with patients/families to apply for appropriate insurance or financial assistance.
• Works with patients/families to resolve outstanding or overdue balances.
• Assist Patient Registrars as needed.
• Answer telephone calls professionally and promptly. Efficiently direct calls to appropriate individuals. Take messages when necessary.
• Maintains updated knowledge of all insurance plans accepted by SCCHC.
• Assists patients in obtaining appropriate approved referrals from managed care plans.
• Assists the Department Manager on managed care issues.
• Maintains a clean, neat and well-stocked work area.
• Projects a neat clean and professional appearance.
• Consistently demonstrates SCCHC’s mission and values statement.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor Degree or equivalent work experience in an outpatient medical billing setting
• Strong verbal and written skills in English, Chinese (Mandarin AND Cantonese)and/or Vietnamese
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and deadline oriented

Job Type: Full-time
