Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities of the Social Studies Teacher:
Instruct students in History and/or other related fields. Employee will work under limited supervision, provide classroom instruction and management for a 11 students according to their individual needs and design curriculum in accordance with South Carolina state standards. Some weekend and evening hours are required for campus events and practices. Employees are required to complete all medical trainings and staff development trainings as required by the agency. This position will use the Aiken County Teacher Pay Scale.
- Provide Classroom instruction for all students according to their individual needs and design a curriculum in accordance with South Carolina state standards.
- Establish appropriate line-range plans by identifying the appropriate instructional, assessment, and management strategies.
- Facilitate student achievement by planning appropriate learning and analyzing student performance using appropriate assessments.
- Establishes, clearly communicates, and maintains appropriate expectations for student learning, participation, and responsibility.
- Promotes student learning through the effective use of appropriate instructional strategies.
- Provides appropriate content for the learners and maintains a constant awareness of student performances in order to guide instruction and provide appropriate feedback to students.
- Maintains a classroom environment that encourages and supports student learning and efficiently manages student behavior, instructional routines and materials, and essential non-instructional tasks.
- Participates in staff development training and activities.
- Attend school meetings.
- Participate in preparation, organization, and supervision of student related activities as assigned.
- Other duties as required.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in History or closely related field. South Carolina Teaching Certification in appropriate area. Valid driver's license.
