About the Roles
Social, Emotional Wellbeing (SEWB) Social Worker
As part of our SEWB team, you will provide client-centered social work services that enhance the social, emotional and practical wellbeing of individuals and families. Your work will include:
- Psychosocial assessments and case management
- Advocacy and care coordination
- Therapeutic interventions and counselling support
- Supporting clients experiencing complex social issues
- Working within a trauma-informed and culturally safe framework
- Collaborating with internal and external service providers to achieve holistic outcomes
headspace Social Worker / Mental Health Clinician
Working within the headspace Mount Isa multidisciplinary team, you will support young people aged 12-25 experiencing mental health, trauma, alcohol and other drug, and social and emotional wellbeing concerns. Responsibilities include:
- Mental health screening and assessment
- Therapeutic interventions and counselling
- Care coordination and advocacy
- Supporting young people and families using evidence-based approaches
- Delivering culturally safe and trauma-informed care
- Participating in clinical governance and multidisciplinary care planning
About You
You will possess:
- A Degree in Social Work or relevant qualification
- Eligibility for, or membership with, the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) highly regarded
- Experience in case management, counselling, advocacy or mental health support
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- A commitment to culturally safe, person-centered practice
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
- Current Driver Licence
- Current Blue Card (or ability to obtain)
- Satisfactory National Police Check
Desirable Experience
- Working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities
- Community services, primary health care or social and emotional wellbeing programs
- Youth mental health services, headspace, or related clinical environments
- Trauma-informed practice and mental health intervention experience
