Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Software Development Manager to lead our dynamic development team. This role involves overseeing the design, development, and deployment of innovative software solutions across various platforms. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive technical expertise in modern software development frameworks, and a deep understanding of IT infrastructure. You will play a pivotal role in driving project success, fostering agile practices, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality applications that meet business objectives.

Duties

• Lead and manage cross-functional software development teams to deliver projects on time and within scope.
• Oversee the entire software development lifecycle, including planning, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define project requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Ensure best practices in code quality, security, and performance across all projects.
• Maintain and improve IT infrastructure supporting development activities, including cloud services such as AWS and Azure.
• Guide the team in adopting agile methodologies to enhance productivity and responsiveness.
• Review and approve technical designs involving RESTful APIs, web development frameworks like React Express, front-end/back-end integrations, and application architecture.
• Manage source control systems such as GitHub, SVN, and Git; oversee versioning strategies for multiple projects.
• Promote continuous learning by staying current with emerging technologies like quantum engineering applications, C++, C#, VBA, .NET, Python, JavaScript, SQL, MySQL, Linux environments, RBAC security models, and API integrations.
• Facilitate effective communication between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in software development, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
• Proven experience in software development with expertise in web development frameworks such as Ruby on Rails and front-end technologies like React Express.
• Strong background in application development using languages including Java, C++, C#, Python, VBA, and JavaScript.
• Demonstrated leadership in managing software engineering teams within an Agile environment.
• Extensive knowledge of IT infrastructure management on cloud platforms like AWS and Azure.
• Hands-on experience with RESTful API design and integration; familiarity with API security standards such as RBAC.
• Proficiency with version control tools including GitHub, SVN, and Git.
• Solid understanding of databases such as MySQL and SQL Server; experience with database design and optimization.
• Familiarity with Linux operating systems for server management and deployment workflows.
• Knowledge of software security practices and compliance standards.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
