Software Engineer

We are seeking a Software SCADA Engineer to join our engineering team and contribute to the delivery and support of high-quality SCADA solutions across utility and industrial environments.

This role is ideal for an Electrical, Automation, or Computer Engineer with hands-on experience working with SCADA systems who is ready to take ownership of defined project work packages while collaborating closely with senior engineers on overall system architecture and standards.

The position is primarily office-based, with site attendance required during deployment, commissioning, and testing phases.

Overview of Role:

You will work across the full lifecycle of SCADA projects — from design and configuration through to deployment, commissioning, and support. A core focus of the role is developing robust, intuitive SCADA applications using Ignition, delivering reliable and secure systems that meet client operational needs. This role involves communication with the client during the implementation of SCADA systems and also after with any queries they may have about the system and any problems they may incur with it.

Responsibilities:

• Configure and implement SCADA solutions as part of multi-disciplinary project teams
• Develop SCADA graphics, tag structures, alarms, and associated configurations
• Integrate SCADA systems with PLCs and RTUs in collaboration with senior engineers
• Participate in FAT, SAT, commissioning, and system handover activities
• Produce and maintain software design documentation and configuration records
• Respond to customer queries, incidents, and service requests
• Deliver end-user training following system deployment
• Liaise with client IT and OT stakeholders regarding networking, security, and remote access
• Maintain project files, backups, licensing, and version control
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering standards

Technical Skills & Experience:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience working with SCADA systems
• Experience with Ignition and/or other SCADA platforms
• PLC integration experience (Schneider, Siemens, Rockwell)
• Knowledge of Modbus, DNP3, OPC UA
• Working knowledge of SQL desired
• Experience using Python alongside SQL, APIs, or SCADA data sources is an advantage
• Understanding of industrial networking concepts
• Full driving licence
