As a Software Engineer, this position will be working within Technology Enterprise Platform organization. Working with a global agile team to maintain and support existing UI control libraries used by the Enterprise. Also developing a brand-new greenfield set UI control to meet the branding and design desired by the company for years to come. A successful candidate will be an excellent verbal and written communicator.

Primary Responsibilities of a Software Engineer role:

  • Work closely with other business units and other teams in understanding the functional and technical design for processes identified for automation potential or application development
  • Providing architectural input over solution designs to ensure consistency and continuity across the company’s IT infrastructure and delivery team
  • UI Control Library development in reactjs
  • Design reusable components, frameworks and libraries
  • Develop and configure automation processes as per the process requirements document to meet requirements defined by the business
  • Ensure quality of coded components by using best practice and comply with accessibility standards
  • Comply with and helps enforce design and coding standards, policies and procedures
  • Participate in an Agile/Scrum methodology to deliver high-quality software releases through Sprints
  • Communicate any identified project risks and issues to the delivery/project manager and providing inputs to the change control process
  • Support the Operational Teams during the UAT and rollout phases
  • Training and mentoring other developers within the team on development and delivery disciplines
  • Develop team standards and best practices while keeping up to date with industry standards, and technology changes to help build robust systems to accommodate the industry requirements and business needs
  • Complete and meet all security and info sec challenges and addressing CVEs
  • Cloud deployments via github actions and pipeline engineering

Required Qualifications of a Software Engineer role:

  • Experience working with JavaScript
  • Experience with React/Angular frameworks
  • Proven experience performing CICD with GitHub, CodeQL, SonarQube, Sauce Labs, Jest, Cypress, Dependabot
  • Solid understanding of typical Enterprise IT infrastructure \ architecture
  • Good understanding of the key requirements documents involved in a delivery lifecycle (functional, technical, testing documents)
  • Exposure to Agile delivery methods
  • Experience working with distributed teams
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering \Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications of Software Engineer role:

  • Experience in a Front End Software Engineering position
  • Experience working with Azure/AWS Public Cloud
  • Previous experience in the Insurance Industry (preferably Health Insurance)
  • Understanding of HTTPS and Rest communication via web services
