Shift Energy Group is seeking a Solar operations Analyst to join our team in Calgary, AB. This role plays a critical part in monitoring solar PV systems, identifying issues, and supporting on-site resolution. Working closely with both internal teams and clients, the Technical Support/Solar Analyst helps drive efficient issue resolution and system performance. This position is ideal for a proactive, analytical professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about solar energy and sustainability.

About the Role:  

As a Solar Operations Analyst you’ll be responsible for monitoring solar PV systems and proactively identifying performance issues to support timely resolution. You will play a key role in maintaining strong communication with clients, assisting them in troubleshooting and reconnecting their monitoring systems to ensure continued system visibility and performance.

Job Responsibilities:

· Monitor solar PV systems using various platforms to ensure optimal system performance.

· Identify system issues and generate service tickets for on-site resolution by field technicians.

· Open and manage warranty/RMA claims with manufacturers for defective equipment.

· Communicate with clients regarding system issues and outline the steps being taken to resolve them.

· Provide remote support to clients for reconnecting monitoring systems to the internet.

· Maintain internal monitoring databases, ensuring all projects are accurately registered and actively tracked.

· Enter and update data across multiple platforms including CRM systems, Google Sheets, and monitoring tools.

· Collaborate with internal teams, installers, and manufacturers to streamline issue resolution processes.

· Analyze the performance of operating photovoltaic sites on a regular basis to identify trends or anomalies.

· Perform other related duties as assigned.

Assets (preferred but not required):

· Post-secondary degree or technical diploma from and accredited institution

· Preferred Education: Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Energy Systems

· Engineering Technology, Sustainable Energy Management

· Relevant internships or co-op experiences

· Electrical background or physical or mechanical engineering or any other relevant scientific

· Experience in customer support or technical service roles

Requirements:

· Proficient knowledge and experience with Solar PV systems

· Familiarity with monitoring platforms (e.g., APS, SolarEdge, Enphase, Fronius, etc.).

· Ability to troubleshoot basic network connectivity issues (Wi-Fi, LAN).

· Capable of working autonomously with minimal supervision

· Deeply passionate about solar energy and sustainability

· Eager to continually learn, grow and hold oneself accountable

· Demonstrates exceptional work ethic and proactively tackles new challenges

· Proven ability to collaborate effectively across departments

· Diligent attention to detail and strong organizational skills

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
