  • Develop single line diagrams (SLDs), string layouts, equipment schedules, and preliminary electrical designs. Be able to carry out these tasks yourself and also delegate tasks to our CAD technicians and electrical design engineers when required.
  • Select appropriate PV modules, inverters, mounting systems, cabling, and balance of system components.
  • Ensure designs comply with electrical regulations, grid requirements, health & safety standards, and industry best practices.

  • Develop bills of quantities (BOQs), procurement schedules, and technical specifications.
  • Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
  • Support pricing strategy and commercial reviews to ensure competitive tender submissions.
  • Analyse project profitability, technical risks, and value engineering opportunities.
  • Assist in contract reviews, scope clarifications, and commercial negotiations.

Project Development & Business Development

  • Support the sales and business development teams with technical expertise during client engagements.
  • Attend client meetings, site surveys, and pre-tender discussions.
  • Identify client requirements and develop tailored technical solutions.
  • Prepare technical proposals, presentations, and tender documentation.
  • Contribute to pipeline development and opportunity tracking.
  • Manage and update the commercial quotation tracker.
  • Maintain relationships with electrical contractors, main contractors, developers, consultants, suppliers, and key stakeholders.
  • Support market analysis and identification of new commercial solar opportunities.

Pre-Construction Management

  • Coordinate all pre-construction activities from lead qualification to project award.
  • Manage technical due diligence, feasibility studies, and site assessments.
  • Liaise with utilities, consultants, landlords, and regulatory bodies where necessary.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and records throughout the development phase.
  • Coordinate internal approvals and handover documentation for the operations/construction team.
  • Ensure smooth transition of awarded projects to project delivery teams.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, Energy Systems, or related discipline. Electrical trade or good understanding of electrical construction material and methods also advantageous.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in commercial solar PV design, estimation, or project development.
  • Strong understanding of commercial and industrial solar PV systems.
