CHRISTMAS SEASON INTERNSHIP PROGRAM (Soufriere Only)
We are excited to offer paid internship opportunities to one (1) remarkable candidate, in the job role of 'Runner', at our West Tech Shipping retail store in Soufriere only. See below outline of the job duties and qualifications for this role. The internship begins December 4, 2024, and ends on January 31, 2025.
Runner
The Runner is required to assist in the unpacking of all customer packages distributed and delivered by company drivers to our store locations The work performed by Runners is critical, as they ensure all customer packages are entered into our digital inventory system once received in store. They also secure and deliver documents, packages and other inter-office correspondence and messages, delivered by drivers, to the respective individuals.
Runner therefore have a major impact in reducing the length of time customers wait to have their packages retrieved from the storage area, processed, paid and handed over to them. As part of a team where excellent customer service is a priority, the Runner further provides information and assistance to all of our customers here at West Tech Shipping , while also being committed to resolving concerns with a focus on 100% customer satisfaction. As such, all Runners are excellent communicators who are professional, patient, positive and empathetic. They are also highly-focused on providing expedient, accurate service in our fast-paced environment, to ensure all customers are served in a timely manner.
JOB DUTIES
- Ensure a high level of customer service is provided to all internal and external customers at all times, to deliver 100% satisfaction.
- Answer questions from customers about our services and products (e.g., billing, account opening process, auctioned products and customer service policies).
- Receiving, scanning and packing of all newly received packages.
- Reconciliation of all packages upon delivery of goods.
- Responsible for collecting and systematically sorting and packing cargo in-store, in accordance with established procedures.
- Accurately and expediently collect and process all payments received for products and services from customers.
- Ensure that all cargo is handled in a safe and professional manner.
- Perform daily inventory counts.
- Maintenance of storeroom with a focus on ensuring it is always neatly and systematically organized, in accordance with the company's stand operating procedure, to ensure packages can be easily identified and disbursed to customers.
- Provide administrative support to team members and store supervisor/manager when needed.
- Receive accurate online orders from customers and pass on to the respective authorities for action (accounts clerk).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs without strain.
- Well spoken, with an outgoing and friendly personality.
- Patient, with the ability to remain calm and professional during challenging interactions
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and organize time effectively.
- Flexible with the ability to work on weekends.
- Knowledge of brokerage or courier service industry preferred, but not required.
- Ability to provide accurate, valid and comprehensive information to customers, by applying the right knowledge
- Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to follow up on resolutions
- Ability to maintain high levels of productivity and focus in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to follow communication procedures, guidelines, and policies
- Disciplined and focused worker.
