Caledon Produce Farms Ltd. is seeking a bilingual (English and Spanish) individual to support the administration of the Seasonal Agricultural Worker Program (SAWP) on their farm in Burford, ON. This is a full-time, permanent position.

The Seasonal Agricultural Worker Program (SAWP) allows employers to hire temporary foreign workers for positions in the agricultural sector to complete seeding, planting, harvesting, and other duties. The SAWP Support Team at Caledon Produce ensures the successful arrival, employment, and departure of workers under this program. The candidate will join an existing SAWP Support Team to complete these duties.

Duties include:

  • Real-time, on-site translation for staff meetings, medical appointments, banking services
  • Receive and forward requests from seasonal agricultural workers, including maintenance and repair requests, inventory and supply requests, and accounting inquiries
  • Written translation of company documents, text memos, and policies
  • Transportation support for seasonal agricultural workers, including but not limited to appointment locations and field sites (company vehicle is provided)
  • Deliver inventory and supply requests to workers at their company-owned housing locations
  • Support the bi-weekly completion of payroll for 200+ seasonal agricultural workers
  • Use excel spreadsheets to track important information related to seasonal agricultural workers, including medical notes, disciplinary actions, and housing lists with accuracy and confidentiality when necessary
  • Represent Caledon Produce with professionalism; work collaboratively to ensure the successful operation of SAWP on the farm
  • Annually, conduct updates and improvements to the delivery of SAWP at Caledon Produce
  • During the season (Feb-Nov), participate in a rotating on-call schedule for after-hours support, including evenings and weekends. The on-call schedule is divided evenly among the SAWP Support Team and paid at a premium rate

Requirements:

  • Fluent in English and Spanish
  • Authorized to work in Canada
  • Valid G class license

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm; on-call evenings and weekends as needed

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
