We're searching for a

Spares Planning Manager

to lead the end-to-end spare parts planning strategy that supports our national network. If you thrive on solving complex supply challenges, collaborating across technical and vendor teams, and driving smart, data-led inventory decisions—this is your opportunity to make real impact.

In this pivotal role, you’ll bring together strategy, analytics, and operational leadership to make sure the right parts are in the right place at the right time—keeping our customers connected when it matters most.

The day to day:
Lead and carry out the strategic direction for spare parts planning across Optus’ national network

Enhance and automate planning, forecasting, and sparing processes for greater accuracy and efficiency

Collaborate with key engineering, operations, assurance, and vendor teams to align on network support needs

Analyse performance data to identify risk, optimise inventory levels, and improve repair/return cycles

Drive operational excellence by managing key KPIs—fault fix times, MTBF, failure rates, and supplier performance

Lead the Spares Planning team and contribute to a culture of high performance and continuous improvement

What you’ll bring:
Critical thinking with a deep understanding of the balance between cost, risk, and service availability.

Ability to collaborate and influence stakeholders and vendors across multiple functions

Experience turning data into action and complexity into clarity

Substantial experience in spare parts' planning, inventory management, or telecom engineering

Strong knowledge of SAP ECC or S/4HANA, with forecasting and planning expertise

Proficiency in Excel and Power BI for data analysis and visualisation

Experience managing vendor performance and cross-functional planning forums

A deep understanding of warehouse, RMA, and repair cycle operations

Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and team leadership capabilities
