Air Liquide Canada is seeking a Specialist – Continuous Improvement (Finance) to join the western region finance team, which supports the operations of the western region and its districts. Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, this position will play a critical role in the financial management of the region by delivering key financial reports, conducting in depth analysis and supporting strategic decision making.Based in Calgary, the position will provide business insights through data driven analysis, monitor monthly financial data and collaborate with various teams to ensure financial objectives are met and operational efficiency is optimized. This role is ideal for a detail oriented individual with a strong analytical mindset for operational accounting and a passion for continuous improvement.

- Analyze trends, operational metrics and key drivers to assess business
- Deliver consistent and reliable variance & gross margin analysis of the business and provide recommendations for decision making by senior management
- Determine accuracy of monthly financial results, ensure data is complete prior to close and book allocations and accrual entries if needed
- Prepare monthly financial reports for senior management, including P&L
- Assist in the preparation and coordination of the annual target and quarterly
- Run historical financial trends to support the annual target and evaluate the
- Collaborate with sales, pricing and operations teams to gather insights on plant performance, logistics, market trends and client behavior to explain variance analysis and incorporate in forecasts
- Update the annual standard cost model used for product costing and plant
- Prepare and present bonus calculations for sales teams and set sales targets by account executive
- Work closely with districts identifying positive P&L initiatives, driving efficiencies and tracking progress to target
- Collaborate with teams to provide financial insight and analysis on key business initiatives such as the viability of acquiring new distributors and profitability of stores
- Drive continuous improvement within the finance team, enhancing finance
- Assist in the implementation of SAP S4 Hana
- Ensure compliance with corporate financial policies and procedures
- Support internal audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations of financial data
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure the integrity of financial data

Are you a MATCH?
- Business Degree and/or CPA accounting designation preferred
- 7 + years work experience in accounting and/or FP&A roles
- Experience with BI reporting is an asset
- Knowledge of ERP systems with preference for Oracle or SAP S4 Hana
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills
- Proven technical and analytical skills with the ability to think creatively to identify trends and insights through different lens
- Effective relationship builder and ability to deliver results through influence in a collaborative team environment
- Strong drive to continuously evaluate and improve processes
- Experience with data extraction, manipulate, sort and extract data using filters, pivots and lookups
