A Cire Teacher

Cire Community School is a leader in delivering innovative programs to students from years Prep to 12 who have disengaged from education and offers an alternative to mainstream schooling. With growing campuses in Yarra Junction, Lilydale, Monbulk and Berwick, Cire is seeking amazing Teachers to work with some of the most vulnerable and marginalised young people.


Cire is seeking new Teachers to support some of the most vulnerable and marginalised young people within the region. This position is a Specialist Teacher position which will support students to re-engage with education and to identify their own interests, needs, goals and learning plans. They develop and deliver dynamic and engaging learning materials and activities.

Reporting to the Campus Principal, working closely with wellbeing specialists and learning assistants, The Specialist Teacher supports students in the achievement of learning outcomes and pathway progression with the ultimate goal being that students develop skills and confidence. This is achieved through the use of the community garden space and other outdoor learning environments being built as resources to facilitate student learning and engagement.


, our Teachers support students to re-engage with education through the development and delivery of dynamic and engaging learning materials and activities. Working closely with wellbeing specialists and learning assistants, Teachers support our students in achieving positive learning outcomes and pathways to further education and employment.


About you


As an experienced Teacher, you:

  • Are a four-year qualified teacher with current VIT registration
  • Are passionate about working with young people who have disengaged from mainstream education
  • Are experienced in working with classes ranging from years Prep to 12, utilising your skills in a wide variety of subject areas including literacy, numeracy etc.
  • Experience in agriculture, horticulture or outdoor education programs is recommended
  • Have the ability to support students to re-engage with their education and the passion to persist despite any obstacles
  • Understand a trauma informed approach to learning
  • Have the ability to form and positive relationships with young people and demonstrate flexibility and adaptability on a daily basis
  • Have a thorough understanding of Child Safe frameworks and regulations and the ability to apply these effectively
  • Are willing to undertake certifications including a national police check
