Serves as primary contact with the sponsor to clarify proposal guidelines and funding priorities and to assess submission deadlines.

Job Description:

Essential Functions:
  • Serves as primary contact with the sponsor to clarify proposal guidelines and funding priorities and to assess submission deadlines.
  • Liaises with the Office of Compliance, Office of Technology Transfer Commercialization, Legal Services, Human Resources, Research Finance, other Research Institute departments and centers; Division Chiefs, Center Directors and hospital administrators and others as necessary to support the proposal development and submission.
  • Ensures adherence to institutional policies and sponsor guidelines for funding applications and performs final administrative review of proposal submissions.
  • Reviews proposals for accuracy, compliance and completeness as prescribed in the funding announcement and sponsor guidelines. Finalizes proposal application and works with stakeholders to attain final approval before submission. Validates and submits final application and communicates submission to proposal team. Reviews and submits JIT information to sponsor.
  • Reviews proposal budget and budget justification for accuracy against proposed work on proposal. Reviews high-risk elements above risk threshold for Subawards and communicates with Research Finance as needed.
  • Maintains a high level of professional knowledge through self-study, research, participation in professional development, and attendance at webinars and conferences.
  • Disseminates information on changes with NIH and other sponsors guidelines, forms, requirements, regulations, etc. to customers.
  • Active member of the administrative research support team, facilitates meetings as needed to effectively oversee compliance with institutional, local, state, federal and other sponsor requirements and regulations.

Education Requirement:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education and experience, required.

Experience:
  • Three years of related experience, required.
  • Experience in research administration, accounting, or equivalent experience, preferred.
