Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Spring Machine Set Up/Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, setting up, and operating spring manufacturing machinery to produce high-quality components efficiently and safely. Your expertise in machine programming, tooling, and quality control will ensure that production runs smoothly while meeting strict specifications. Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate various spring manufacturing machines, including CNC milling machines, stamping presses, and press brake machines, ensuring optimal performance and safety standards.
  • Program and adjust machinery using CNC programming, CAM programming, and other automation tools to produce springs according to detailed blueprints and technical specifications.
  • Read and interpret complex engineering drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), CAD files, and blueprints to ensure accurate tooling and setup.
  • Conduct routine inspections of tooling, fixtures, and machinery using precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers; perform calibration checks regularly.
  • Troubleshoot machine issues promptly by utilizing mechanical knowledge and factory experience to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area; handle materials efficiently using forklifts or other materials handling equipment as needed.
  • Perform quality control checks throughout the production process to verify dimensions and adherence to specifications and document inspection results accurately.
  • Assist with assembly line tasks when required, including fabrication, welding, or packaging of finished products.
  • Follow safety protocols diligently; participate in safety meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in the manufacturing facility.

Requirements

  • Proven experience operating spring manufacturing machinery or similar equipment such as CNC milling machines, stamping presses, CNC lathes, CNC lathe or CAM programming tools.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of tooling setup, fabrication processes, and machining techniques.
  • Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), CAD software like SolidWorks, or similar programs for blueprint reading and design interpretation.
  • Ability to read detailed blueprints with GD&T specifications; proficient in using precision measuring instruments like calipers and micrometers for quality assurance.
  • Experience with factory environments involving manufacturing processes such as stamping, welding, assembly line operations, or materials handling.
  • Valid forklift certification is preferred; basic math skills are essential for calculations related to measurements and tolerances.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures related to machine operation and materials handling; ability to operate hand tools safely.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues quickly; strong attention to detail for quality control purposes.
  • Prior warehouse or manufacturing facility experience is advantageous; familiarity with packaging processes is a plus.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $17.60-$26.63 per hour
