Position Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, secure, automate, and operate our AWS-based cloud platform supporting a mission-critical oncology software solution used by patients, clinicians, and healthcare organizations worldwide.

This role is responsible for both cloud infrastructure engineering and DevOps practices, ensuring our SaaS platform is secure, scalable, highly available, and compliant with healthcare and medical device requirements. The successful candidate will work closely with software engineering, architecture, security, quality, and operations teams to enable reliable software delivery and operational excellence.

This is a hands-on technical role requiring deep expertise in AWS, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, automation, cloud security, observability, and production operations.

The product is Siemens Healthineers´s cloud-based software solution for patient relationships and care navigation management. It’s designed to connect cancer patients with their clinics online throughout the entire cancer journey. The product used by 35 000+ active cancer patients and healthcare professionals from leading oncology centers in North America and Europe. The candidate in this role will provide strong product development leadership to a team of software engineers and test engineers, working in an agile/scrum environment.

Job Description
Position Duties:
  • Design, implement, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure supporting production and non-production environments.
  • Develop cloud architectures that meet requirements for scalability, availability, security, performance, and disaster recovery.
  • Manage AWS services including compute, networking, storage, databases, identity management, and monitoring.
  • Optimize infrastructure utilization, cloud costs, and operational efficiency.
  • Implement multi-region and high-availability solutions where appropriate.
  • Develop infrastructure standards, reference architectures, and operational best practices.
  • Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines enabling secure and reliable software delivery.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and application deployment processes.
  • Ensure platform availability, reliability, and performance through proactive monitoring and automation.
  • Utilize AI-assisted software development tools to improve coding, testing, debugging, documentation, and development productivity.
  • Lead incident response, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and post-incident reviews.
  • Implement and maintain observability solutions including metrics, logging, tracing, and alerting.
  • Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code solutions.
  • Automate provisioning, configuration management, deployment, monitoring, and recovery processes.
Qualifications Required: BE, MSc, MCA, Computer Science or related discipline.

Number of year’s related experience:
8-10 years

Special Knowledge / Skills:
Required:
  • 7+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, DevSecOps (Development, Security and Operations), Site Reliability Engineering, or platform engineering roles.
  • 5+ years of hands-on AWS experience supporting production SaaS environments.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Strong scripting and automation skills using Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar languages.
  • Experience with container technologies and orchestration platforms.
  • Strong understanding of security concepts (Cloud security architecture, network security, encryption and key management, vulnerability management, IAM etc.)
  • Experience with observability tools such as Datadog, Dynatrace, Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus, or New Relic
  • Experience with Terraform or Infrastructure as Code
Nice to have:
  • Experience developing healthcare products conforming quality system regulations.
  • Certifications from AWS or Azure
  • Understanding of healthcare data security and privacy requirements
  • Experience using AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Cursor, Claude, or similar tools through coursework, personal projects, or internships.
