Sr. Director, Value, Access, Pricing & Policy Lead Europe

General Description:
The Regional Market Access Lead is responsible to support countries in their Region to successfully drive and implement market access activities. While reporting to the Global VP GVAP, they are member of the Regional Leadership Team. They partner closely with the GVAP Franchise and Global Pricing Leads by providing access insights to ensure that Value Toolkits which reflect the Payer Archetypes (HTA, OoP, Tender…) requirements of their Region are developed. They monitor and interpret government maneuvers relating to access to medicines, Health Economic Assessment policies and changes in legislation. They are cooperating with local Representatives, Market Access teams and Governmental Affairs Member to supporting and contributing to the overall success of our product launches.
Essential Functions of the job:
  • Define, develop, and execute market access initiatives & strategic pricing & reimbursement contracts for the products at national, regional and hospital levels. Build on solid insights of local environment and customers, integrating key levers such as pricing, clinical and economic evidence, policy shaping, multi-stakeholder engagement
  • Manage and align the diversity of healthcare markets across the Region
  • Supports opportunity assessments and business cases for new product launches and territory expansions.
  • Collaborates with the GVAP TA teams and local representatives on strategic brand, launch, and business planning, providing market insights and proposing commercial/access strategies. Ensures alignment with Global brand plans.
  • Supports Global Pricing Function to develop innovative pricing and value based contracting models to optimize the acceleration of reimbursement approval in their Region.
  • Work closely with EUHTA Lead to develop and roll out JCAs
  • Translate strategic insights from countries to support GVAP team to develop practical, well-designed HE and outcomes research initiatives to support value of brands.
  • Drive strategic direction, in close collaboration with critical key functions, to support product launch and its performance while monitoring progress against targets and efficiently managing the budget assigned.
  • Consolidate and champion local needs relating to data gaps for both evidence generation and health economics tools used to support and communicate the value of BeiGene’s products across the region (ensure the HEOR tools support the regional strategy and facilitate access / reimbursement)
  • Prepare tailor made solutions for each market within the region, to support affiliates and business partners through a central and collaborative development of pricing schemes and negotiation strategies (including value-based agreements)
  • Drive access and value related projects such as landscape assessments, payer market research, payer advisory boards and general guidance on strategies for access
  • Influence cross-functional teams, including interfacing with key internal and external stakeholders and with scientific and commercial teams.
  • Input local needs into Global pricing strategy for current and future portfolio.
  • Ensure GVAP deliverables support the above strategies to facilitate pricing, reimbursement and uptake.
  • Monitor market access and health policy environment, early identify new trends, disseminate strategic, operational and financial implications and share the implications with country leadership team and EU market access leadership team.
  • Act as strategic member of the Regional Leadership Team. Ensure that information flow between Global and Region is excellent
Supervisory Responsibilities: No direct supervision, high level of cross functional and pan-regional collaborations with internal stakeholders
Education Required: Undergraduate science degree required. Post-graduate science degree (PhD, PharmD, MD) and/ or MBA preferred.
