Sr. Manager, Supply Chain
Join our Mission to Protect Humankind!

Vaxcyte is a clinical-stage vaccine innovation company engineering high-fidelity vaccines to protect humankind from the consequences of bacterial diseases, which have serious and costly health consequences when left unchecked. Working to eradicate or treat bacterial infections such as invasive pneumococcal disease, Group A Strep, periodontitis and Shigella is just the beginning. Our path to success is clear and well-defined, and Vaxcyte is set up to go the distance.

WHAT
we do is every bit as important as HOW we do it! Our work together is guided by four enduring core values:

  • RETHINK CONVENTION: We bring creative and intellectual diversity to every facet of the work we do in order to innovate and re-innovate the way vaccines are delivered.

  • AIM HIGH: We embody our collectively audacious goal to courageously make the most complex biologics ever attempted to protect humankind.

  • LEAD WITH HEART: Everyone leads at Vaxcyte with a kindness-first, inclusive approach to collaboration and vigorous debate that advances our business objectives.

  • MODEL EXCELLENCE: The magnitude of our challenge requires our shared commitment to demonstrating integrity, accountability, equality and clarity across communications and decision making.
Summary:
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing various aspects of the supply chain, ensuring the seamless delivery of raw materials, supporting manufacturing processes, and maintaining optimal inventory levels. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong organizational skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional, highly matrixed organizational environment.

Essential Functions:

  • Act as the primary liaison for the Supply Chain function on the relevant Commercial Product Team (CPT). Ensure that supply chain perspectives and requirements are integrated into all commercial product strategies and decisions.

  • Ensure the timely delivery of customer-supplied Critical Raw Materials (CRMs) to support the CMO site's manufacturing schedule.
  • Ensure that the CMO site has sufficient storage capacity to support the manufacturing schedule.
  • Lead any planning required for customer-supplied single-use and reusable storage and shipping containers required to support manufacturing needs.
  • Understand the CMO site's capabilities, identify potential risks, and support improvement and expansion projects as needed.
  • Work closely with Manufacturing & MSAT colleagues to model and improve cycle times and yield rates.
  • Understand the site-specific Bill of Materials (BOM), identify issues and risks, and support waste improvement projects. Ensure that the BOM accurately reflects the materials required for production and that potential discrepancies are addressed promptly.
  • ERP Transaction Management: Manage work orders, purchase orders, and goods receipts.
  • Define and monitor KPIs including delivery performance, yield, cycle time, reject rate and consumption rate.
  • Lead cross functional supply chain planning activities including CMO, Global Supply Chain, MSAT, Strategic Sourcing and QA.
  • Proactively identify potential supply risks and initiate actions to mitigate.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree. Engineering, Biotechnology or related field preferred.
  • 9+ years’ supply chain experience in Pharmaceutical, Biotech or other regulated industry.
  • Understanding of Supply Chain, Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality and Regulatory processes.
