A NOTE ON HOW TO REACH US

We're truly grateful that so many people have Foundant on their radar — it means a lot that our work resonates with others. That said, due to the high volume of direct messages and emails we receive, cold outreach isn't the preferred way to be considered for a role, and we're not able to prioritize applications submitted this way. To apply for open positions, please visit our careers page, which is the fastest and most effective route to being considered.

About Foundant

At Foundant, we build mission-critical software for the social good ecosystem — helping foundations, grantmakers, nonprofits, and community organizations streamline their work, strengthen relationships, and maximize their impact. We serve the giving community worldwide with a comprehensive suite of solutions spanning grant management, community foundation software, and giving analytics.

We're a unified company shaped by strong roots across our product portfolio, and we operate with intention and purpose. Our team of ~350 people across six countries is connected by a shared North Star: to be the trusted partner and strategic advisor to the communities we serve.

Role overview

Foundant is growing its presence in the Australian philanthropic and social good sector, and we're looking for a hands-on marketing generalist to build our audience, presence, and lead pipeline on the ground. This person will grow and diversify our Australian contact list, build marketing partnerships that extend our reach across the country, run in-market events, and produce or manage the content that drives demand generation — with a distinct focus on Australian philanthropy. A talented, driven and self-directed marketing generalist who has spent 7+ years working independently in marketing across tech (and preferably philanthropy or the social good sector) who is comfortable owning a full SaaS remit — from list building to live events to content and email output — without a large team on the same timezone.

Where You’ll Work:

  • As a remote-first workplace, we believe in offering flexibility and the freedom to work where it suits you best, while staying connected through technology. Our global network of talent is supported by physical office hubs and virtual collaboration, fostering a dynamic environment where innovation and growth thrive.
  • Must be located in the same time zone as a major Australian city (e.g. Sydney, Melbourne, or Brisbane — AEST/AEDT) to overlap with events, partners, and the broader team. This role will work closely day-to-day with the small Australia-based sales team and Managing Director on local priorities, and closely within the broader marketing team — mostly based in the US — for demand-gen support, campaign alignment, content planning, and reporting.

What
You’ll Do:

List building & marketing partnerships

  • Grow Foundant's Australian marketable list through multipronged organic, paid, and partnership-driven channels. Drive and hit monthly MQL targets.
  • Identify, pitch, and manage co-marketing and channel partnerships with sector associations, philanthropy networks, associations and philantrophy “influencers” as well as complementary vendors to extend Foundant’s reach and awareness across the country.

Events on the ground

  • Plan and run in-person events across Australia — from small roundtables, lunch and learns, webinars, to larger panels and conference presences — end to end (venue, logistics, speakers, promotion, follow-up).
  • Represent Foundant as needed at relevant industry conferences and sector gatherings.

Content & demand generation

  • Develop demand-generation content specific to the Australian philanthropic sector: webinars, panels, reports, and blog posts.
  • Either write this content directly or manage freelance/contract writers to produce it, depending on volume and specialization needed.
  • Repurpose and localize existing Foundant content (US/UK) for the Australian market and voice where appropriate.
  • Coordinate with the US-based marketing team on campaign timing, assets, and performance reporting.
  • Identify Australian clients for case studies.

Digital and Website

  • Build up Foundant's Australian LinkedIn following through targeted, locally relevant content.
  • Maintain light, timely coverage of the Foundant website for the Australian market during Australian business hours.
  • Work with the digital marketing manager on keyword strategy for paid search and Google Ads targeting the Australian market.
  • Support lead generation and conversion through SEO and AEO (answer engine optimization) for Australian search and AI-assistant visibility.
What You’ll Need:
  • 7+ years of marketing experience, across different disciplines, with a significant portion working independently, building a sector, launching into a market and building a list (not just as part of a large in-house team).
  • Background in marketing for tech/SaaS.
  • A demand-gen-first mindset: you default to thinking in terms of pipeline and list growth, and treat every piece of content, event, or partnership as a lead-generation opportunity.
  • Strong writing and editorial skills — able to write compelling publication-ready emails, content and to brief, edit, and manage other writers.
  • Strong product marketing skills. Able to take the positioning of the products and translate them, and new releases, to specific markets and sectors.
  • Experience building and executing in-person events, ideally in Australia or a similar market.
  • Comfort working autonomously across a broad remit, prioritizing across list growth, partnerships, events, and content.
  • Familiarity with demand-generation fundamentals (campaigns, lead capture, webinars) and reporting on results.

Nice to have

  • Existing relationships within the Australian philanthropic or grantmaking ecosystem or a keen interest.
  • Experience in marketing in the philanthropic/nonprofit sector.
  • Experience with grant management or fundraising software, or adjacent nonprofit tech
  • Prior experience standing up a market presence from scratch (rather than scaling an existing one).
Why You’ll Love Working at Foundant:
  • At the heart of everything we do is a commitment to innovation and making a positive impact. Whether you’re working on projects that empower not-for-profits, community foundations, or corporations, your contributions will help drive real-world change.
  • We offer competitive salary and benefits, including tuition, and lifestyle reimbursements, and bespoke mindfulness and fitness initiatives.
  • With our Flexible PTO policy, you’ll have the freedom to manage your time in a way that supports your personal well-being and professional success.
  • We’re committed to your professional and personal development. With our merger, you'll have the chance to collaborate across teams, giving you exposure to diverse ideas, expertise, and projects that span multiple industries.
  • As part of a larger organization, you’ll have even more opportunities to grow your career. Whether it’s exploring new roles, leadership opportunities, or shifting to a different department, we support internal mobility to help you achieve your career goals
  • You’ll enjoy autonomy and responsibility, empowering you to approach your work creatively and independently, fostering innovation and independent thought.
  • Employee recognition is a core part of our culture. When you do a great job, we make sure everyone knows about it!
