Amazon seeks a Program Manager to join our European Transportation Procurement-Ops Excellence team to manage our transportation carriers and help us improve our processes as part of a central function.
Successful candidates will have the attitude of an entrepreneur always pushing the limits of what our carriers can do to deliver with higher quality, speed and innovation on behalf of Amazon customers. They will combine strong analytical skills and problem solving mindset. This is a highly visible role with high impact for customers and strategically for the business. The role requires partnering across several organizations and functions within Amazon.
Transportation Procurement-Ops Excellence at Amazon Europe is all about creating and adding value through great category management, leadership, and supplier relationship management. Our team looks after suppliers across a full range of transportation sub-categories - including postal services, express deliveries and value added delivery services.
Key job responsibilities
- Project lead cross-functional programs aimed at Procurement-Ops process improvement and automation
- Work with technical and business teams to define, develop and deploy new tools
- Drive supplier relationship management activities to improve performance and add value for Amazon customers
- Establish structured and lean contract update / renewal process and ensure appropriate contract management discipline
- Develop an aligned strategy including initiatives to establish new and innovative services, and drive performance
- Establish carrier performance management, define evaluations and classifications, drive towards long-term strategic partnerships with high performing carriers
- Identify and implement significant bottom-line cost savings
- Product management - work with technical and business teams to define products, develop roadmaps and deploy new tools and products
