Experience Required: 15+ years in Corporate, Physical, and Telecom Security, with leadership experience across India
Education: Graduate/Post Graduate (preferably with certifications like CPP, PSP, CISM or ISO 27001)
Job Purpose:
The Sr. Security Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive security program across all corporate offices, project expertise for security work packages, telecom compliances, and operational sites across India. This includes physical security, regulatory compliance, audits (DoT, GSMA, SAS), and proactive risk mitigation strategies. The position requires deep knowledge of Indian security regulations and global telecom security standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Pan-India Site Security Management
- Oversee end-to-end security operations for all corporate offices, data centers, hotels, warehouses, and defense facilities across India.
- Standardize and enforce security protocols, SOPs, and infrastructure guidelines across multi-city including remote locations.
- Deploy and manage monitoring systems for CCTV, access controls, perimeter intrusion detection, and visitor management across all sites.
- Conduct internal and vendor-based security audits, including new office sites, defense sites, hotel audits and offsite accommodation security reviews.
- Weekly meetings and regular site updates to ensure adherence to security protocols and site security measures.
- Expat security management including expat hotel audits, residential safety audits etc.
3. Crisis & Emergency Response
- Serve as the Crisis Management Lead for all emergency situations—natural disasters, fire incidents, civil disturbances, or security breaches.
- Create, test, manage Emergency Response Plans (ERPs), Business Continuity Plans (BCPs), and Evacuation Protocols on a regular basis.
- Act as the primary liaison with police, fire departments and other emergency and security situation responders.
- Work closely with site team and HSE team to have smooth flow of site operations pan India.
4. Physical & Technical Security
- Direct implementation and regular upgrades of physical security systems, including biometric access controls, AI-enabled surveillance, BMS, and fire detection systems.
- Manage AMC and SLA compliance for all technical security infrastructure.
- Ensure optimal guard deployment and training across all locations, supported by a strong SOP-driven operational framework.
- Collaborate with the IT and Network teams to ensure telecom compliance with data security and network integrity standards.
5. Security Audits & Regulatory Compliance inline with requirements
- Able to manage, coordinate and provide inputs for compliances related to ISO 27001, DoT security audits, GSMA security assessments, and SAS (Security Assurance Scheme).
- Implement corrective action plans based on audit outcomes, ensuring zero non-compliance.
- Oversee the physical and logical security to ensure meeting the telecom compliances infrastructure.
6. Vendor & Personnel Oversight
- Manage and monitor third-party security providers across India, including SLAs, KPIs, and compliance with contract terms.
- Recruit, train, and supervise a strong internal team of regional and site-level security managers.
- Build a culture of security awareness, vigilance, and accountability across all employee levels.
7. Training, Awareness & Policy Development
- Develop and roll out security awareness training programs for security team, security guards, junior to mid level employees and leadership teams.
- Periodically test the organization's preparedness through mock drills, tabletop exercises, and scenario-based training.
8. Project Costing & BOQ Validation
- Oversee and validate Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and project costing for all security-related infrastructure and upgrades.
- Review technical proposals and vendor-submitted BOQs for CCTV, Access Control Systems (ACS), BMS, PA systems, barricading, bollards, and surveillance equipment.
- Ensure alignment of BOQs with project scope, compliance standards, and site-specific security risk assessments.
- Collaborate with procurement and engineering teams to finalize specifications, budgets, and timelines for security work packages.
- Approve cost-effective and technically viable solutions while maintaining compliance with security audit requirements (DoT, GSMA, SAS, etc.).
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Knowledge to manage compliances related to DoT compliances and ISO 27001 standards
- Strong understanding of Indian regulatory frameworks, public safety laws, and private security regulations
- Proven experience in managing large-scale, pan-India security operations
- Expertise in security technologies – CCTV, ACS, BMS, intrusion systems, dead man alarm and centralized command centers
- Strong incident management, emergency response, and crisis leadership capabilities
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- Hands-on experience with security system design and installation
- Strong understanding of security technologies and vendor ecosystem
- Proficiency in BOQ preparation, cost estimation, and technical documentation
- Knowledge of DoT audit requirements and their impact on infra specs
- Ability to read technical drawings (AutoCAD, SLDs) and interpret MEP integration needs
Work Environment:
- Pan-India travel to corporate office, security sites, defense sites, hotel audits etc
- May require 24x7 availability during crisis or high-risk scenarios
- Coordination with local law enforcement, DoT officials, GSMA auditors, and state authorities, as and when required
