We are seeking a Specialist with a strong background in molecular biology and keen interest in areas related to the development of novel therapeutic approaches based around genetic modification, gene therapies or mRNA therapeutics. The candidate will play a critical role in supporting strategies around DNA and/or RNA engineering. This contract position will offer the candidate the opportunity to contribute to innovative drug discovery projects. The candidate should possess broad experimental capabilities and a strong work ethic, have excellent communication skills, and work effectively in a highly collaborative cross-functional team environment.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Utilize your background and experience in molecular biology and cell-based assays to support novel screening assays and strategies to aid in the design, selection and optimization of nucleic acid sequences to support early drug discovery programs
- Develop, adapt, and implement new research techniques and validate protocols for new assays, enabling their integration into standard workflows.
- Work as part of an interdisciplinary team to support research strategies and project goals and critically analyze data that will drive projects forward.
WHAT YOU MUST HAVE
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- BSc/MSc in Molecular Biology or Life Science-related disciplines. Experience in research and proven track record of scientific achievement is a plus.
- Experience in molecular cloning, plasmid purification, in vitro transcription and aseptic cell culture techniques.
- Experience in technologies such as fluorescent- or luminescent-based techniques, flow cytometry, fluorescence-activated cell sorting (FACs), and high-content confocal imaging is a plus.
- Solid experimental design, troubleshooting and data analysis skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and oral/written communication skills with ability to thrive in a goal driven team environment.
- Comfortable working in a matrix environment and handling several concurrent fast paced projects.
