An SS (Stainless Steel) Fitter is responsible for fabrication, assembly, and installation of stainless steel components, especially in industries like food processing, pharma, chemical plants, and fabrication workshops.

Here are the key responsibilities:

1. Fabrication & Assembly

Cutting, grinding, and shaping SS materials (pipes, sheets, plates)

Reading and understanding fabrication drawings

Assembling structures like tanks, pipelines, frames, conveyors, etc.

. Measurement & Layout

Accurate marking and measurement as per drawings

Use of tools like vernier caliper, measuring tape, square, etc.

Ensuring dimensional accuracy

3. Fitting & Installation

Aligning and fitting SS components at site or workshop

Installing pipelines, valves, flanges, and equipment

Ensuring proper sealing and leak-proof joints

4. Welding Support

Assisting welders (TIG/MIG welding commonly used in SS)

Edge preparation, joint fit-up before welding

Checking weld alignment and finishing

5. Maintenance & Repair

Repairing damaged SS structures or pipelines

Replacing worn-out components

Troubleshooting fitting issues

6. Quality & Safety

Maintaining hygiene standards (important for SS industries)

Following safety procedures (PPE, proper handling)

Ensuring smooth surface finish (no contamination/rust)

7. Tools Handling

Grinder, cutter, drilling machine, polishing tools

Pipe bending and threading machines

8. Material Handling

Identifying SS grades (like 304, 316)

Proper storage to avoid contamination or rusting

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹26,986.75 per month
