Position Summary
This position will be responsible for leading the implementation projects of new distribution centers and warehouse operations to support geographical expansion initiatives or network redesign in APAC. Plays a lead role in the negotiation, evaluation and implementation of service provider contracts and service agreements. Works cross-functionally to ensure logistics processes, practices and initiatives comply with global standards. Enhances product workflow by analyzing, developing and implementing logistics plans that have a positive impact on production, distribution and inventory in the region. Identifies underperforming areas, stakeholders, root causes and generates corrective actions. Serves as a liaison to other functional departments including trade compliance, regulatory, environmental, finance, customer service, GIS, procurement and legal to target productivity metrics and business continuity.
Position Responsibilities
  • Leads the implementation projects of new distribution centers and warehouse operations to support geographical expansion initiatives
  • Leads evaluation, negotiation and implementation of 3PL service provider contracts and service agreements, to include operation start-ups and transitions
  • Updates and maintains Standard Operating Procedures with 3PL service provides
  • Works with regional management to ensure logistics spend meets forecast and budget
  • Collaborate closely with market expansion and commercial teams to deliver business case submissions for geographic distribution models
  • Implement Quality Policy and objectives for the global logistics organization
  • Establish and maintain global logistics procedures, work instructions & job aids in compliance with the Quality System
  • Drive cold chain solutions (storage & packaging) to be robust, effective, validated and cost efficient
  • Ensure packaging solutions are fit for purpose, compliant, cost efficient and the regional usage levels meet illumina’s CSR goals
  • Review/establish clearly defined customer requirements and requisite procedure
  • Develop, document and control processes for continued improvement for operational
  • Analyze data for performance trends and drive corrective action and risk management
  • Establish training requirements and standards

Position Requirements:
  • 8+ years’ experience in roles that demonstrate significant end-to-end logistics and distribution process oversight/leadership
  • Excellent, hands on knowledge of Quality System Regulation (QSR), Quality System Inspection Technique Audits (QSIT), FDA 21 CFR 820 Good Manufacturing Practices & Good Distribution Principles (GMP/GDP), ISO13485 & ISO9001
  • In-depth knowledge of ERP/MRP system (SAP) and EWM (preferred)
  • Excellent knowledge of FDA CFDA and EU regulatory compliance for medical devices
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, critical strategic thinking, and the ability to manage and adapt to changes quickly
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations, listen and gain clarification, respond well to questions; demonstrate effective group presentation skills, and write clearly and informatively
  • Strong background working with/on cold chain solutions
  • Strong exposure & utilization of Lean Manufacturing Principles & continual improvement
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Ability to fluidly change management style to successfully build relationships, influence others & build broad cross functional support
  • Broad knowledge of warehouse and logistics operations, concepts, and technology
  • Experience working with a global multi-site corporation
  • 25% travel worldwide

Education Requirements:
  • Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s Degree; or 6 years and a Master’s Degree; or a PhD with 3 years’ experience; or equivalent experience
