About the Role:

As the Statutory Reporting Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the University meets its statutory reporting requirements. This encompasses holding primary responsibility for coordination, verification and confirmation of university data submitted to the Department of Education and other regulators. Where data amendments are appropriate, the Statutory Reporting Officer will communicate these to the appropriate internal and external stakeholders prior to reporting. You will also monitor compliance and other data reporting laws as well as policies, processes and requirements established by regulators to ensure accuracy of all student data.
This is a full time, permanent position with a salary range between $96,323 - $102,186 (G06) per annum, plus 17% superannuation.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of the HESA and ESOS Acts, government reporting requirements, and Curtin’s policies and procedures relating to students.
- Monitor regulatory updates and coordinating required changes with technical and business teams, while maintaining key operational documentation such as business rules, data mappings, and process guides.
- Conduct data validation, quality assurance, and diagnostic checks to identify and resolve reporting issues, ensuring compliance with legislative and reporting requirements.
- Completion of a degree with subsequent relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interrogate data and accurately interpret and apply complex legislative requirements.
- Experience working with enterprise data systems and undertaking data validation, analysis, or reporting activities.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational and analytical skills.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear and professional documentation and reports.
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team, demonstrating initiative to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality outcomes.
- Strong time management and organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise tasks, manage competing deadlines, and coordinate projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience working with large datasets.
- An understanding of the student lifecycle and/or experience working in the tertiary education sector (desirable).
- As this is a continuing (permanent) role, you will require permanent work rights in Australia to be considered
