Sterile Supply And Theatre Technician

As the premier referral surgical hospital in Ireland, maintaining a clean theatre environment and processing surgical equipment in a sterile manner is imperative to offering our patients the greatest chance of success after surgery. We are looking to recruit a full-time person for this position (part-time candidates will also be considered).

Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintaining the surgical theatres and surrounds in a clean, orderly and sterile manner
• Turnover of theatres between procedures
• Decontamination, cleaning and packing of surgical and medical equipment.
• Use of autoclave and ethylene oxide sterilization equipment
• Performing weekly stock take of surgical consumables

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of QQI Level 5 desirable
• Experience working in a Central Sterile Supply Department in a human or animal department desirable however full training will be provided to the right candidate.
• Ability to work under pressure as this is a busy environment
• Attention to detail is essential to maintain standards in the surgical department
