Mulrines is a name that has stood the test of time a proud local employer with deep roots in the community. We are now recruiting Stock Controller to join our team at our Ballybofey site.

Job Purpose

The Stock Controller maintains accurate inventory of raw materials, packaging and finished goods. The role supports procurement planning, coordinates incoming deliveries and liaises with suppliers to ensure materials are available for production while meeting food safety, quality and traceability standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor stock levels of raw materials, packaging and finished goods
  • Support procurement planning by reviewing stock, usage, production requirements and open purchase orders
  • Identify replenishment requirements and communicate these to Procurement and Planning
  • Coordinate incoming loads with suppliers, transport providers, warehouse staff and internal teams
  • Liaise with suppliers on delivery dates, quantities, specifications and delivery or quality issues
  • Check deliveries against purchase orders and delivery documentation; report shortages, damage and discrepancies
  • Complete stock checks and reconciliations; accurately record stock movements in ERP system
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, traceability and health and safety requirements
  • Investigate stock variances, maintain stock rotation and minimise waste and obsolescence

Support audits and continuous improvement across stock control, procurement planning and warehouse operations

Key Requirements

  • Experience in stock control, inventory management, supply chain or warehouse operations, preferably food/FMCG
  • Experience coordinating deliveries and liaising with suppliers
  • Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems, Microsoft Excel, purchase orders and goods-in processes.
  • Understanding of food safety and traceability requirements
  • Excellent attention to detail, numerical accuracy, organisation, communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work to deadlines and flexibility to work overtime when required.

    Desirable Qualifications

    • Qualification in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field

    • Forklift driving experience
    • Experience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives

About The Role

We are looking for a Stock Controller to manage inventory levels, coordinate deliveries and work closely with suppliers, Procurement, Planning and Warehouse teams. The role ensures materials are available for production while maintaining high standards of stock accuracy, food safety, quality and traceability.

P Mulrine & Sons was established in 1919. Originally located just off Main Street Ballybofey with a workforce of 4 people, the company specialised in the production and distribution of soft drinks and bottled beer.

In 1971 P Mulrines & Sons Sales was established, and a new plant was opened on the Donegal Road which offered greater opportunities to the local people for employment with numbers increasing to around 80 people at the site

With the period of growth that followed our first Tetra Pak fillers were introduced in 1982.

An independent fourth generation family business the Company has grown steadily over the years. As a family business we are very proud of our local heritage and of the loyal workforce we have generated here in Ballybofey and the surrounding area, currently employing over 250 people across all sites.

Salary

€37,000.00 - €45,000.00 per year
