M.J. Bale is seeking a commercially driven and hands-on Store Business Manager to lead our David Jones Queens Plaza location. This is a high-profile concession role in the heart of Brisbane CBD, requiring a leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can deliver both strong commercial results and exceptional customer experiences.

The Opportunity

As Store Business Manager, you will take full ownership of performance within the David Jones environment, driving sales, leading your team and strengthening the M.J. Bale brand presence.

Commercial Leadership

Drive sales targets, KPIs and profitability within a concession model

Analyse performance metrics to identify growth opportunities

Increase average transaction value (ATV), units per transaction (UPT) and database growth

Build and nurture VIP and repeat client relationships

Leverage the David Jones environment to maximise brand exposure and sales

Team Leadership & Development

Lead from the front on the shop floor, demonstrating premium selling standards

Recruit, coach and develop a high-performing team

Foster accountability, professionalism and energy

Conduct regular performance and development conversations

Maintain strong alignment with both M.J. Bale and David Jones expectations

Customer Experience Excellence

Deliver personalised styling and tailored service

Drive appointment-based selling and Custom opportunities

Ensure the concession consistently reflects premium brand standards

Create memorable in-store experiences that build loyalty

Operational & Brand Standards

Maintain exceptional presentation and VM within department store guidelines

Manage stock levels and inventory control

About You

Proven experience as a Store Manager or senior retail leader

Experience within department store or concession environments highly regarded

Strong commercial acumen with a track record of achieving KPIs

Passion for menswear and premium customer service

Confident communicator with strong coaching ability

Highly organised and solutions-focused

Thrives in a dynamic, high-footfall retail environment
