Description:
M.J. Bale is looking for an experienced, commercially focused and people-driven Store Business Manager to lead our Miranda store.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a retail leader who wants genuine ownership of their business. You will be responsible for building a high-performing team, growing a loyal customer base and delivering exceptional commercial results without compromising the premium service for which M.J. Bale is known.

You will set the standard for your team by leading from the shop floor, developing meaningful customer relationships and creating an environment where people are motivated to perform at their best.

The Opportunity

As Store Business Manager, you will take complete ownership of the store’s people, performance, customer experience and daily operations.

You will:

• Lead the store to achieve and exceed sales targets and key performance indicators.
• Develop and execute clear plans to drive revenue, conversion and customer retention.
• Lead from the front and maintain a strong presence on the shop floor.
• Recruit, onboard, coach and retain a capable and engaged retail team.
• Set clear expectations and provide regular feedback to support individual performance.
• Build a culture of accountability, collaboration and recognition.
• Develop lasting customer relationships through personalised styling and exceptional service.
• Grow the store’s local client base and encourage repeat business.
• Maintain strong product knowledge across tailoring, fabrics, fits and seasonal collections.
• Oversee rostering, wage management, stock control and operational compliance.
• Maintain premium visual merchandising and store presentation standards.
• Analyse store performance and identify opportunities for continued growth.
• Work closely with regional and support office teams to deliver broader business priorities.

Skills and Experiences:
About You

You are an established retail leader who combines commercial ambition with genuine care for your team and customers.

You will bring:

• Previous experience successfully managing a retail store or significant department.
• A proven record of achieving sales targets and improving commercial performance.
• Strong leadership skills with experience coaching and developing employees.
• The ability to create an accountable, positive and high-performing team culture.
• A genuine passion for premium fashion, styling and customer service.
• Strong commercial awareness and confidence interpreting performance results.
• Experience managing rosters, wage budgets, stock and operational standards.
• Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
• A proactive leadership style and the confidence to make sound decisions.
• Flexibility to work across the retail roster, including weekends.

Experience in premium fashion, menswear, tailoring or luxury retail would be highly regarded. Most importantly, you will be an inspiring leader who takes pride in their store and is motivated by achieving exceptional results through people.
