To better position ourselves and work with our clients to capture future opportunities, the Business Development team is looking for someone who is proactive, motivated, and interested in developing business and commercial acumen to join us!
Reporting to the VP Candu Marketing and Business Development - International, the successful candidate will collaborate with the Candu leadership team to develop strategic communications and partnerships aligned with Candu’s strategic goals. Key responsibilities include building external relations, leading engagement opportunities, creating compelling marketing materials, and tracking market activities. The advisor will also connect teams to enhance business development efforts and identify new leads to promote CANDU technology both domestically and internationally.
This role will be based in Mississauga, ON.
Your role within the team:
- Collaborate with the development of strategic external stakeholder communications, sector partnerships and events that align with the Candu Strategic Plan.
- Use specialized knowledge to build comprehensive external relations and strategies with key stakeholders in developing markets and leverage these relationships to advance Candu’s mission and growth goals.
- Work to identify engagement opportunities, and lead tour logistics and operations, executing meticulous planning and strategies to position Candu as a leading voice in priority markets.
- Contribute to the development of robust prospect presentations with key messages and narratives to support good story-telling and visual creatives to advance Candu’s commercial objectives.
- Partner on Candu marketing materials and development of first-in-class content to create successful campaigns.
- Track global nuclear market activities, and daily monitoring of top competitors and global nuclear players, policies and regulatory challenges that could impact Candu’s operations and outcomes.
- Be the connector between members from Business Development & Marketing and Incubator Team in winning work and moving through pre-project phases.
- Assist in identifying new leads and opportunities to showcase the benefits of CANDU technology and secure its prominence at home and on the world stage.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders in the development of new marketing material, relating to opportunity and capture phases of the bidding process.
- Work with the Business Development & Marketing Team to support new business strategy initiatives, as and when required.

The ideal candidate:
- Bachelor degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or Communication or other relevant degrees.
- 7-10 years of relevant experience.
- Strong analytical and communications skills.

- A team player with strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to influence others.
- A self-starter with strong organizational skills, work planning skills, and the ability to work independently, if required.

- Familiarity and knowledge of nuclear projects and engineering/technical terminology is an asset.
- Professional attitude, clear communicator, relationship-building skills for internal and external interfaces.
