The role
The University of Exeter is seeking an innovative and strategic marketing and public relations professional to join our high-performing team as Strategic Marketing Partner (Global Reputation). This role will be at the forefront of shaping our academic reputation around the world. You will play a pivotal role in advancing our global brand awareness, research impact and rankings, significantly contributing to Exeter's position as a global leader, particularly in climate risk, environment, and sustainability.

This full-time role is available on a permanent basis from March 2025.

The role offers the opportunity for hybrid working – some time on campus and some from home.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with University Executive Board colleagues, the Executive Director (EEG), and other stakeholders to craft and deliver a clear vision for marketing, supporting public affairs, and enhancing international reputation.
  • Build and maintain robust relationships with local and global stakeholders to identify opportunities and plan strategic activities, driving the institution's ambition to achieve a QS World 100 ranking.
  • Develop and execute integrated brand marketing campaigns with a focus on climate risk and resilience, aligning these efforts with international reputation and student recruitment strategies.
  • Work closely with colleagues to highlight key research strengths and effectively communicate these to academic peers, industry partners, government entities, and NGOs.
  • Collaborate with a network of marketing and communications experts to deliver region-specific campaigns that consider cultural and social nuances, insights, and data.
  • Establish and track success metrics and KPIs to evaluate campaign effectiveness and inform future strategies.
  • Optimize the allocated budget through strategic management and procurement.

About you
To excel in this role, you will bring:
  • Proven experience in strategic marketing and communications, preferably within a higher education or similar environment.
  • Strong leadership to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Expertise in developing and executing integrated marketing and PR campaigns.
  • Excellent analytical and reporting skills.
  • Creative thinker with a strategic mindset.
