About the Position
The City is seeking a dynamic Strategic Projects Officer to provide the Strategic Projects Advisor with high-level strategic and operational support enabling the Directorate, and the City more broadly, to deliver upon its key goals and objectives.
Key Responsibilities
The duties of the Strategic Projects Officer will include but are not limited to:
- Coordinate the City’s Scarborough Beach Precinct Governance Plan in line with the Scarborough Beach and Trigg Beach ‘Precinct Management’ approach, as directed by the Precinct Manager.
- Form strong relationships with the Scarborough Beach & Trigg Beach Precinct Team and external stakeholders, including deputising as the Precinct Manager to ensure projects, services, and initiatives are reflecting the needs and aspirations of the community.
- Provide briefings, pitches and presentations to stakeholders on strategies, projects and initiatives.
- Provide advice, written reports and research to the Precinct Manager as required.
- Liaise and collaborate with the Community Development Leadership Team to facilitate workshops and assist with the development of processes, supporting the delivery of key strategies and projects.
- Assist with the delivery of key strategies, projects and other agreed initiatives by engaging, informing and liaising with various stakeholders across the Directorate and the organisation.
- Provide support, advice, research, supporting written reports, to the Strategic Projects Advisor on key strategies, projects and other agreed initiatives on behalf of the Directorate.
- Actively identify, build and sustain relationships with Elected Members, government agencies, consultants, businesses, community organisations and other external stakeholders to assist in the support of the advancement of key strategies, projects and other agreed initiatives as directed.
About You

- Relevant tertiary qualifications or relevant work experience
- Agile Project Management Accreditation
- Proven experience in planning, managing and operating a wide range of community infrastructure, facilities and projects.
- Experience negotiating and building constructive professional relationships with stakeholders.
- Advanced conceptual and analytical skills.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills.
- Solution-focused mindset and able to capitalise on opportunities

This temporary full-time position is a Level 7 of the Workforce Agreement position which attracts a salary from $96,731.43 gross pro rata per annum plus superannuation.
To be eligible to work for us, you need to provide, or have ability obtain a:
- A copy of Australian driving licence
- National Police Clearance (valid within the last 3 months)
- Pre-Employment Medical and DAS clearance
- The right to work in Australia
