ACS manages community-based supports and foster care services and provides subsidized childcare vouchers. ACS child protection staff respond to allegations of child maltreatment. In juvenile justice, ACS oversees detention, placement, and programs for youth in the community.

ACS’ Division of Policy, Planning and Measurement (PPM) collaborates with every ACS division to bring knowledge to practice. PPM guides systems analysis and strategic systems improvement; assures quality of practice at ACS and its provider agencies; professionalizes the front-line workforce; brings knowledge into practice; provides research and analytic support; and plans and develops new programs and policies.

Within PPM, the Office of Strategy, Innovation and Planning (SIP) guides strategy, capacity building, systems design and reform across ACS. SIP is committed to collaborative practices designed around the principles of community engagement, transparency, and cultural humility. The primary functions of the team include policy and data analysis, strategy design and innovation, program management and implementation support, participatory research and design, and continuous quality improvement and sustainability.

PPM is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Strategy, Innovation and Planning Undergraduate Intern to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support on projects, including preparing data visualizations, presentations, meeting minutes, and training objectives

  • Collect and organize quantitative and qualitative data from stakeholders

  • Assist with conducting research and analysis on system improvement, implementation, and policy reform

  • Support project evaluation and planning support of system-wide initiatives

Learning Outcomes:

  • Gain hands-on experience implementing collaborative practices designed around the principles of community engagement, transparency, and cultural humility within a government organization

  • Enhance abilities in policy and data analysis, strategy design and innovation, program management, research and design, and continuous quality improvement and sustainability

  • Strengthen skills in coordinating and executing organizational tasks in a professional setting

To apply for the internship, you must be a graduate student and must be currently enrolled or accepted in a graduate program.
