Noront Steel Ltd. is a full service unionized steel fabrication firm specializing in the manufacture of structural steel, plate work and miscellaneous steel. Noront projects include institutional, commercial, industrial, architectural and residential steel fabrication.

Position: Experienced Structural Steel Fitter

Rate: $30.00 - $38.00/hr ( Rate will increase upon completion of probationary period)

Fulltime Position: Steady days and overtime as required

Experienced Structural Fitters are responsible for fabricating, assembling and fitting structural steel while maintaining quality and accuracy in accordance with the drawings provided.

Main responsibilities will include:

Fabricating, Assembling and Fitting Structural Steel; Rig, hoist and move materials to and from workstation;

Lay out reference points and symbols on the structural steel according to the blueprint; Assemble and fit metal sections and plates using tack welding, bolting or other methods; Set up and operate various equipment such as torches, drills, various clamping tools, squares, disc grinders and other hand held tools.

Requirements: Minimum 5 years in the industry

All members of Noront’s team are expected to ensure safe work practices, wear appropriate PPE at all times; and have good communication skills.

Able to lift 55lbs.
