As part of our expansion, we are currently looking for a motivated Thermal Engineer to join our group.

Responsibilities
To become a key part of the wider engineering team and help deliver on Mbryonics’ aspiring goals mainly focused on optical communications links for deployment in LEO.
Day-to-day application of the ANSYS suite, or similar, of products to build structural and thermal simulation models for various types of optical payload systems and component levels, for example, motorised gimbal systems, mechanisms, telescope housings, mirrors, optical benches.
To aid and lead implementing Vibration, Shock and TVAC testing regimes to put for example, thermal elements to the test to validate simulation models for precise prediction of the payload thermal management.
Determine materials choice, design improvements and coatings choices, etc, for control of critical operational parameters such as, dimensional stability and optical surface properties.
Perform modal and thermo-mechanical analysis to determine stress, fatigue states, dynamic couplings and thermal gradients.
Implement continued development of engineering practices and procedures within a blossoming start-up environment.
Develop novel solutions for, and provide structural and thermal feedback on modelled, mechanical systems through standard and innovative approaches, creative inputs and by leveraging former engineering background/experiences.
Be proactive and consistently help to progress product development in a multidisciplinary environment.
Assist with enhancing the team’s capabilities while thriving on setting and achieving your own mission deadlines.
Prototype building, testing, documenting and developing processes, and producing support documentation.
Work with managers and supervisors to implement quality measures and standards, with an ultimate goal of scaling up to high volume manufacturing.
Required Technical Skills/Education
2+ years of thermal, mechanical, aerospace, optical or related engineering field experience.
Good knowledge of thermal analysis tools such as ESATAN-TMS & Systema-Thermica, as well as knowledge of space thermal control engineering is required
Understanding of early stage prototyping and product development
Spacecraft systems knowledge
Experience with environmental testing for space hardware
Desired Technical Skills/Education:
Fluency with ANSYS or similar package.
Familiarity with MAIT and product/spacecraft integration. For example, mechanical, thermal and electrical interfacing would be advantageous.
Knowledge of, or keen interest in, the space sector would be an advantage.
Actively engaged in the field of thermal/mechanical engineering and continuous professional development.
Comfortable with both working alone and collaborating as part of a team.
Leads by example, not afraid to roll-up the sleeves to be mission and deadline motivated.
Proven problem-solving abilities with a keen interest in becoming a decision maker in mechanical engineering activities.
Proposal writing for competitive tenders and research grants.
Knowledge and interest in multidisciplinary analysis, software engineering, and numerical methods would be considered an asset.
