Student Intern/Research Assistant

What you will be doing

The research explores stakeholder perceptions, public concerns, and social acceptance, addressing environmental, economic, and societal uncertainties related to the megaproject. The work includes policy analysis and stakeholder engagement, with the aim of identifying key factors that influence community acceptance and support more inclusive and sustainable decision-making.
To support the project activities, we are seeking a full-time Project Assistant for four months who is interested in contributing to research through data collection, document analysis, and general project support. The selected candidate will work on collecting data from open sources related to political discourse about the megaproject before, during, and after the Municipal Elections 2025, as well as gathering and analyzing data from policy documents and other relevant materials related to the case study.

We are looking for someone who

• is currently a student at the end of their studies at university or university of applied sciences and available for a 4-month summer position
• is fluent in both Swedish and Finnish
• is fluent in written and spoken English (the working language of the project)
• is patient and comfortable working with policy documents and diverse information sources
• has an interest in social discourse and the societal impacts of megaprojects
• works in a goal-oriented manner and has strong collaboration skills

Employment

For the period 15.5– 14.9.2026

Internship salary. Salary according to Collective agreement for universities of applied sciences and Novia's internal guidelines. The position includes a probationary period equal to half the length of the contract.
