Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and compliance-driven Student Loan Officer / Financial Coordinator to oversee the student loan and financial aid process. This role is critical in ensuring that all loan applications, disbursements, and financial records adhere to provincial and federal regulations, institutional policies, and audit standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review, process, and verify student loan applications for accuracy and compliance with government and institutional requirements.
- Maintain detailed financial records, loan documentation, and student files in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Ensure timely reconciliation of student loan disbursements with institutional accounts.
- Liaise with government loan agencies, financial institutions, and auditors to address discrepancies and provide required documentation.
- Monitor compliance deadlines, reporting obligations, and audit requirements related to student funding.
- Provide students with accurate and compliant information regarding loan eligibility, obligations, and repayment responsibilities.
- Implement and enforce institutional financial policies to ensure alignment with regulatory frameworks.
- Prepare compliance reports and assist with external audits as required.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Previous experience in financial aid, student loans, banking, or compliance is strongly preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of provincial and federal student loan programs and regulatory requirements.
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills to meet strict deadlines.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and ability to learn financial/academic systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting and compliance documentation.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $50,000.00 per year
