Job description
We are looking for US based SMEs for one of our leading USA based Clients, to take part in content creation for the for the following course:
SME responsibility:
- SME need to complete a thorough fact-check review of AI-generated and/or shared learning material (i.e., 1 competency's/section worth of material), with specific focus on facts, claims, data, statistics, figures, quotes, names, places, and descriptions of current and recent events.
- Fact-checkers will provide written feedback about inaccurate or misleading material along with proposed corrections (including 2 primary published resources).
- SMEs will add their comments in the same manuscript through track changes and provide links to resources with correct content. Only 1 round of review will be done by the SME. WGU will not provide any feedback, unless there are links that are redundant.
- SMEs will check only for accuracy of the content and not for applicability or flow to the curriculum or mapping of the content to the evidence statements or the learning objective is not a part of scope of work.
- SMEs will include the resources only if the current ones are inappropriate. There is no requirement to add new resources, and no new content has to be created.
- For any inappropriate content, SMEs will provide relevant references that can be used by the client. References should not be Wikipedia links.

SME Requirements:
● A Master’s degree in any content area of Middle School (Sciences, Math). Preferably, doctorate degree.
● Currently holds or previously held a professional teaching license
● At least 3 years' experience teaching middle school
● Expertise in developing and evaluating curricula, including learning objectives, selecting content, and designing learning experiences that align with educational standards – InTASC, CAEP, CEC, Utah
● Strong communication skills to effectively convey complex concepts to diverse stakeholders.
● Experience with curriculum-based assessment and measurement
● Be able to work on a fast-paced, quick turnaround project.
● Post pandemic experience with the following:
- Teaching experience within a middle school classroom
- Online pedagogy
- Use of various digital tools to facilitate instruction, communication, and assessment.
- Accommodating diverse learning needs in different settings (in-person, hybrid and remote)
- Adapt assessment methods to different learning environments (in-person, hybrid and remote)
CONSIDERATIONS FOR INSTRUCTIONAL PLANNING FOR LEARNERS:
- Familiarity with Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles and their application in instructional planning, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility.
- Expertise in differentiated instruction techniques to address various learning styles, abilities, and needs within the instructional planning process.
- Proficiency in using data to inform instructional planning, with an understanding of assessment data and its role in tailoring instruction to individual learner needs.
- Experience with integrating adaptive and assistive technology into instructional planning, incorporating relevant tools and applications to enhance the learning experience for all students.
- Competence in culturally responsive teaching practices, recognizing and addressing the cultural and linguistic diversity of learners.
