The Rod Inspection & Processing Technician is responsible for inspecting, processing, and preparing rods and couplings to ensure they meet company and customer standards. Key responsibilities include performing visual and NDT inspections, breaking and handling couplings, conducting inhibitor dipping, and documenting all related data. The technician plays a critical role in maintaining product integrity and ensuring quality standards in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Rod Inspection:
  • Perform visual, dimensional, and non-destructive testing (NDT) inspections of rods, ends, and bodies for defects such as cracks, corrosion, pitting, or wear.
  • Operate inspection equipment (e.g., ultrasonic, magnetic particle, or eddy current testers).
  • Record inspection data accurately and consistently.
  • Coupling Breaking and Handling:
  • Break apart rods and couplings using appropriate mechanical or hydraulic tools.
  • Inspect threads and coupling condition for wear, damage, or corrosion.
  • Clean and sort reusable couplings per company standards.
  • Properly dispose of or tag defective components.
  • Inhibitor Dipping:
  • Dip rods and/or couplings in corrosion inhibitor solutions as per procedure.
  • Ensure proper coverage, drying, and safe handling of treated materials.
  • Maintain inhibitor tanks, including monitoring chemical levels and cleanliness.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
  • Complete inspection reports and processing logs accurately.
  • Tag or label materials based on inspection outcomes.
  • Communicate non-conformances to supervisors or quality personnel.
  • Equipment Maintenance and Safety:
  • Maintain and calibrate inspection tools and dipping equipment as needed.
  • Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of PPE, lockout/tagout, and material handling practices.
  • Keep work area clean and organized.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
