Summer 2026 Intern, Technology Enablement

The intern will contribute to a cutting-edge AI Ready Data Framework initiative that enables AI-powered insights across life sciences data. The intern’s focus will be on building the foundational ontology mapping capabilities that allow systems to understand and standardize complex biomedical data using industry standards like CDISC, MedDRA, and LOINC

A typical day might include the following:

• Understanding of CDISC, MedDRA, LOINC standards and their real-world applications in pharmaceutical data management

• Working with Databricks platform including Unity Catalog, Apache Spark, and Delta Lake

• Implementing semantic understanding and entity mapping using large language models and NLP

• Learning metadata management and data standardization practices in regulated industries

• Conducting systematic experiments and documenting findings professionally

• Presenting technical work to both technical and business audience

This job might be for you if you:

• Currently pursuing Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Bioinformatics, Information Systems, or related field

• Strong Python programming skills (pandas, numpy, data manipulation).

• Experience with data structures and algorithms

• Basic understanding of SQL and data processing

• Familiarity with Jupiter notebooks or similar environments - Version control systems (Git) experience

• Exposure to NLP or machine learning concepts

• Experience with REST APIs or web services

• Knowledge of life sciences, healthcare, or pharmaceutical domains

• Familiarity with ontologies, semantic web, or knowledge graphs

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Databricks)

• Self-starter with strong problem-solving abilities

• Excellent documentation and communication skills

• Ability to work independently and ask for help when needed

• Curiosity and willingness to learn new technologies quickly

• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
