About Us

Opera’s Gothenburg office collaborates closely with our gaming-focused teams in Poland (Opera GX) and Scotland (formerly Yoyo Games) to bring immersive games, entertainment, and gaming news directly to our users' browsers. Our Gaming organization includes teams across front-end, backend, R&D, QA, and product and design, all working together to create innovative, user-centered experiences for our millions of users. Meanwhile, our iOS team, Opera for iOS (OFi), brings these values to our mobile products, developing engaging browsing experiences specifically for iOS users.

What to Expect

As a summer intern, you'll have the opportunity to join one of our Gothenburg teams in Gaming—front-end (TypeScript), backend (Java), R&D (C++), DevOps (AWS), quality assurance (QA), or product and design. You may also have the opportunity to join our dedicated iOS team, focused on bringing unique browsing experiences to the iOS platform. Our product and design teams collaborate closely with tech to create impactful, visually compelling, and user-centered experiences across our platforms.

We’ll assign you to the team that best matches your skills, interests, and our project needs, ensuring you get the opportunity to make a meaningful impact.

Requirements:

• Enrolled in a computer science, product design or related program in Chalmers University or University of Gothenburg.
• Strong interest in programming, technology, gaming, mobile development or design.

Program Details:

• Duration: June to August 2025, with flexible start and end dates to suit your schedule.
• Application Process: Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, with the goal of finalizing the recruitment process by the end of January 2025.
