Project Delivery Superintendent

  • Form part of an expanding dynamic team with a focus on personal growth and safely delivering the right projects for the Pilbara.

  • Support our Eastern Pilbara Mine Sustaining Capital Project teams, specifically located at one of our Pilbara Mine Operations.

  • Perth based role (5 days on, 2 days off), with regular site-based travel expected.

About the role

We are seeking an engaging, safety and productivity focused Superintendent Project Delivery to lead our delivery team for the Greater Hope Downs region.

You will be responsible for executing divisional capital projects mostly <$2m to enhance productivity, safety, asset reliability and meet anticipated project demand in alignment with Rio Tinto standards, while maintaining compliance with relevant legislative and statutory requirements.

This role presents a fantastic opportunity to draw on your stakeholder engagement, people leadership skills, project management and commercial acumen, coupled with your technical knowledge to manage the portfolio of strategic turnkey solutions for Greater Hope Downs. This role will suit a proficient leader, who has experience working in project leadership roles, with the ability to effectively lead, mentor and coach team members, business partners, contract partners and senior leaders.

The successful candidates will be passionate about developing and supporting diverse teams and contracting partners in achieving successful outcomes for projects. You thrive on collaborating in multi-disciplinary teams and engaging with various stakeholders. In addition, to be successfully considered for this role you will also:

  • Demonstrate strong personal commitment to the safety of yourself and others.

  • Have solid multi discipline portfolio management experience, with the ability to define and implement project improvement initiatives to maximise capital efficiency

  • Demonstrated experience in project management, contractor management, project execution and project controls

  • Capable to manage a team delivering projects from early phases to close-out

  • Ability to work with diverse teams and manage multiple programs of change / continuous improvement activities

  • Experience with evaluation studies for potential and identified projects including leading of scoping, feasibility and engineering studies that assists the company to achieve production targets

  • Possess tertiary level qualifications in Project Management, Engineering or similar (desirable only)

Perth based role with regular site-based travel expected to the north-west of Newman, Hope Downs 1 & Hope Downs 4 is a joint venture managed and operated by Rio Tinto.
