YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

Reporting to the General Supervisor, Environment, you will be part of the Environment Department. You will coordinate the activities of the Meadowbank Complex Environment team and will plan, organize and prepare required documentation to ensure good environmental practices in terms of site inspections, water monitoring, spills, waste, wildlife management and as well as new environmental projects. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct, and the environment.

  • Efficient operation of the department through supervision of the technicians and the management of consultants for environmental programs and reporting;
  • Provide essential participation and assistance in field execution of all required environmental work and provide guidance to the team members;
  • Production of weekly/monthly reports and participate on annual report preparation, writing and review;
  • Plan efficiently the departmental resources and staff according to the department budget requirements;
  • Ensure compliance with regulations, permits, plans and following up on actions for non-conformities;
  • Trend and follow sampling results by maximizing the use of the departmental database;
  • Ensure liaison with other departments (mainly for water management, construction, water quality forecast);
  • Lead or assist site inspection with regulators and communicate with Inspectors, Regulators, and/or Officers as required;
  • Ensure liaison with Communication/Community Relations groups;
  • Review, document and ensure the information provided is accurate;
  • Lead by example by applying best practices and respecting the Company’s Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment;
  • Participate in compliance and maintain of different organizational standards (RMMS, ICMC, TSM, etc.) and others when required;
  • Assist in the permitting process.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • College Degree in Environmental Sciences/Environmental Management/Biology/Chemistry/ Hydrology or any relevant field;
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role in the mining industry
  • Arctic experience and mining project experience would be considered an asset;
  • 5+ years supervisory experience is a must, along with good leadership skills;
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team;
  • Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office software, especially Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Note that the official working language at Meadowbank Complex is English.

Your Work Schedule:
  • Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest;
  • Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
