PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION

The primary purpose of the Supervisor of Logistics position is to organize, implement and direct the day-to-day activities for the Central Transporters, Couriers, and the Mail Room Clerk.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Duty 1: Supervises the daily operations of the Logistics department to ensure timely movement of patients, courier delivered supplies and internal/external mail throughout the organization.

Duty 2: Adheres to and develops policies and procedures to ensure that departmental staff is safe and compliant with applicable regulatory agencies. Maintains current policy and procedure manuals in areas of responsibility.

Duty 3: Provides coaching, mentoring, and strong guidance for department associates. Enforces Rules of Conduct and administers corrective discipline as needed.

Duty 4: Oversees the associate selection process including position documentation, new hire interviews, and department orientation.

Duty 5: Completes daily payroll for department associates and approves payroll audits.

Duty 6: Assists in the planning and budgeting of the Logistics department (central transport, couriers and mail room).

Duty 7: Assures that transport equipment is properly maintained and cleaned according to manufacturer guidelines.

Duty 8: Oversees department education and training program including monthly safety blitz, department specific training, and competency reviews. Provides associate support through coaching and counseling and completes performance reviews in a timely manner.

Duty 9: Completes timely associate performance review and provides coaching

Duty 10: Provides leadership and direction to achieving Service Excellence goals in the department as well as the organization.

Duty 11: Adheres to policies, procedures, rules and regulations as they pertain to department and/or regulatory agencies.

Duty 12: Reviews and analyzes department indicators and uses industry standards to enhance service levels, costs, and continual improvements.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent. Significant related experience will also be considered
  • CPR Responder (hands-only CPR) required within 30 days of hire
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • A valid driver's license is required (if you do not have a valid Ohio driver’s license you must obtain one within 30 days of your residency in the state). You must also meet BVHS's company fleet policy and insurance company requirements, and any other requirements that may be required to operate a vehicle.
  • Positive service-oriented interpersonal and communication skills required.
  • This position is classified as 'at risk' for possible occupational exposure to blood borne pathogens (HBV, HIV, etc.)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrated supervisory experience
  • College degree

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This position requires a full range of body motion with intermittent walking, lifting, bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting and standing. The associate will be required to walk for up to one hour a day, sit continuously for six hours a day and stand for one hour a day. The individual must be able to lift twenty to fifty pounds and reach work above the shoulders. The individual must have good eye-hand coordination and fine finger dexterity for simple grasping tasks. The individual must have excellent verbal communication skills to perform daily tasks. The associate must have corrected vision and hearing in the normal range. The individual must be able to operate a motor vehicle for business travel and community involvement.
