Job Title: Supply Chain Finance Consultant
Location: Reading, UK (with travel across Europe)
Employment Type: Permanent
Salary: £70,000 per annum

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Supply Chain Finance Consultant to join our team. This role requires an analytical expert with the flexibility to travel frequently, initially to our Reading headquarters and later to client sites across Europe.

Role Overview:
The Supply Chain Finance Consultant will play a pivotal role in enhancing clients' supply chain finance operations, focusing on optimising working capital, cash flow management, and operational efficiencies. You will provide insights, strategies, and solutions to improve the intersection of finance and supply chain, helping clients achieve cost savings and process efficiencies. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in supply chain finance, exceptional analytical abilities, and a track record of successful project delivery within multinational environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supply Chain Finance Optimisation:

Assess clients’ supply chain finance processes, identify areas for cost reduction and efficiency gains, and design solutions that improve cash flow, working capital, and financial resilience.

  • Strategic Planning and Execution:

Develop and implement supply chain finance strategies that align with clients’ overall business objectives, providing actionable insights and recommendations to drive value across the supply chain.

  • Financial Analysis and Modelling:

Conduct in-depth financial analysis, including cash flow projections, cost analysis, and risk assessments, to support data-driven decision-making in supply chain finance.

  • Stakeholder Engagement:

Build and maintain strong relationships with client stakeholders across finance, procurement, and supply chain functions. Communicate complex financial concepts and solutions effectively to varied audiences.

  • Process Improvement Initiatives:

Lead continuous improvement projects within supply chain finance, applying Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies to streamline processes and eliminate inefficiencies.

  • Market and Risk Analysis:

Monitor market trends, supply chain disruptions, and other risk factors that could impact clients’ financial and operational performance. Advise on mitigation strategies to protect working capital.

  • Project Delivery and Client Management:

Ensure timely and successful delivery of projects, from initial assessment through implementation, maintaining high levels of client satisfaction and engagement.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Educational Background:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. An MBA or relevant professional certifications (e.g., CIPS, CFA) are advantageous.

  • Experience:

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in supply chain finance, financial analysis, or management consulting, ideally within a multinational or consulting environment.

  • Analytical and Financial Expertise:

Proficient in financial modelling, cash flow forecasting, and supply chain cost analysis. Strong problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.

  • Process Improvement Knowledge:

Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies. Demonstrated ability to drive efficiencies within supply chain finance processes.

  • Strong Communication and Stakeholder Management Skills:

Proven track record of building and managing relationships with stakeholders across different functions. Ability to communicate financial insights in a clear, compelling way.

  • Project Management:

Demonstrated experience managing projects from concept through completion, ensuring delivery within scope, budget, and timeline.

  • Technical Skills:

Proficiency with financial software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and strong Excel skills. Familiarity with data visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.

  • Flexibility for Travel:

Willingness to travel as required, initially to Reading, UK, and subsequently across Europe to support client engagements.
