Support Worker

Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential care and support to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities and hospice care. This role requires a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those in our care, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and meal preparation.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to clients, fostering a positive environment.
• Implement behaviour management strategies as needed to support clients with specific needs.
• Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required.
• Perform heavy lifting when assisting clients with mobility or transferring them safely.
• Administer first aid when necessary and ensure that all health and safety protocols are followed.
• Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care.
• Maintain accurate records of client progress and report any changes in condition to the appropriate personnel.

Experience

• Previous experience in senior care or as a support worker is preferred but not essential.
• Knowledge of assisted living practices and hospice care is advantageous.
• Familiarity with first aid procedures and behaviour management techniques is beneficial.
• A valid driving licence is desirable for transporting clients as needed.
• Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and the ability to work effectively within a team are essential for success in this role.
