Support Worker - Forensic Rehabilitation (Awake Night Shifts)

• Shifts: Awake nights from 10.45pm to 7.15am - availability for weekend shifts will be required
• Pay: $23.84 - $29.10 per hour depending on relevant qualifications

Mō te tūnga | About the role

IDEA Services provide forensic rehabilitation services for people with high and complex needs who have committed an offence and had contact with the justice system. We provide a 24/7 rehabilitation service that offers clinical support, vocational opportunities, and life skills programmes.

As a Support Worker on the night shifts at our secure facility you will be managing risk and maintaining safety throughout the night. You will be monitoring the people we support within the facility and helping with individual needs when required.

Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu | What you will bring

Previous experience as a Support Worker is preferred, but more importantly, we are looking for someone with some life experience and the right attitude.

• A calm nature and confidence to work with challenging behaviours.
• Comfortable and proficient in using computers and tablets daily.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Physical fitness to provide necessary physical support.
• A Full NZ driver's license or ability to gain this within 6 months.
• Comfortable and proficient in using computers and tablets daily.
• Cultural competence and the ability to understand and apply the principles of Te Tirirti o Waitangi
