Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Surgical Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting surgical procedures by ensuring a sterile environment, assisting the dental team, and providing exceptional patient care. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, aseptic techniques, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the dental team during surgical procedures by providing chairside support and maintaining a sterile field.
  • Prepare and organize surgical instruments and materials prior to procedures.
  • Take and record vital signs of patients as needed.
  • Perform X-ray imaging and assist with medical imaging tasks.
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation and medical records for each patient.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols.
  • Utilize dental terminology effectively in communication with patients and staff.
  • Provide assistance in administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient flow.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in dental assisting or surgical assisting within a clinical setting is preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices is essential.
  • Ability to perform four-handed dentistry techniques efficiently.
  • Strong understanding of medical documentation processes including medical coding.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients of all ages.
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
