The Senior Vice President, Finance Business Partner (SVP – FBP) is a senior leadership role responsible for driving strategic financial insights, performance management, and business decision support across the organization. Reporting directly to executive leadership, the SVP collaborates with cross-functional teams including Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, and Corporate Finance to maximize profitability, improve operational efficiency, and ensure financial health across key business areas. The SVP leads a team of four finance business partners, focusing on the financial performance of Evotec's global business units.
This role requires a high degree of international exposure and cross-border collaboration to support decision-making in a dynamic, multinational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Sales Performance & Forecasting
  • Partner with Sales leadership across regions to analyze sales performance, monitor KPIs, and identify revenue growth opportunities.
  • Deliver data-driven insights on the financial impact of sales strategies and go-to-market initiatives globally.
  • Support accurate and timely forecasting by combining historical data, sales pipelines, and international market intelligence.
2. Gross Margin Management
  • Lead margin improvement strategies through cost analysis, pricing, and cost control initiatives across regional operations.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Supply Chain functions globally to implement sustainable cost-saving measures.
  • Conduct regular COGS reviews and gross margin analysis at product/service and regional levels.
3. Pricing Strategy & Optimization
  • Develop and refine pricing models that consider global market dynamics and profitability objectives.
  • Monitor international pricing trends, input costs, and competitive positioning.
  • Provide actionable financial insights to regional Sales and Marketing leaders.
4. Productivity and Operational Efficiency
  • Drive global operational excellence through analysis of productivity metrics and process optimization.
  • Work closely with international leadership to enhance resource efficiency and organizational performance.
  • Design and implement an effective Finance Business Partnering structure across geographies.
5. Cross-Functional and Global Business Engagement
  • Act as the financial liaison between corporate finance and operational teams in multiple countries to ensure financial alignment.
  • Lead and participate in global planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
  • Co-lead monthly performance reviews with local and regional management teams.
6. Financial Reporting & Business Performance Reviews
  • Oversee the preparation of financial reports and dashboards for executive leadership.
  • Provide analysis and commentary on actual vs. budgeted performance across business units and regions.
  • Ensure transparency and consistency in global reporting, adhering to international accounting standards.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (MBA or relevant Master’s preferred).
  • CPA, CFA, or CIMA designation is highly desirable.
Experience:
  • Substantial years of progressive experience in financial planning & analysis, business partnering, or corporate finance.
  • Significant experience in a senior leadership role managing cross-functional teams.
  • Proven international experience, including collaboration with regional finance teams and supporting global operations.
  • Experience in multinational environments, ideally in life sciences, biotech, or complex industrial sectors.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage financial performance across regions, cultures, and regulatory frameworks.
Expertise & Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of global finance, cost structures, and international margin management.
  • Familiarity with IFRS (mandatory); experience with U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting is a plus.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Fluent in English; additional language skills are an asset.
  • Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills across time zones and functions.
  • Strategic mindset with operational discipline and hands-on execution capability.
