TA Manager Oncology (m/f/d)

The main responsibilities will be the leadership of assigned Medical Advisors and the oversight of their respective indications.

Internal key interactions will be cross-functional collaboration with Market Access, Policy & Communications (MAPCOM), Regulatory, Clinical Trial Operations (GCTO) and HH (Human Health).

External key interactions will be with Scientific Leaders (SLs) and Key Decision Makers (KDMs) for relevant insights gathering.

The TA Manager Oncology will be reporting directly to the Oncology Medical Affairs Lead and will be part of the Austrian Medical Affairs Leadership Team.

The primary activities include but are not limited to:

  • Hires, manages, coaches and develops a group of Medical Advisors assigned to his/her therapeutic areas to ensure the highest quality scientific exchange in alignment with the Country Medical Affairs Plan
  • Develops and oversees Country Medical Affairs Plan for assigned franchise(s), provides scientific input into the therapeutic area and Medical strategy led by the local Medical Advisor
  • Responsible for life-cycle management budget(s) for assigned products (planning, tracking)
  • Participates in national and international scientific meetings to stay up-to-date on newest trends in Oncology for being able to lead scientific discussions with relevant stakeholders
  • Develops and maintains strong and sustainable SL/KDM network
  • Collates field insights that will be shared internally as appropriate
  • Ensures adequate and compliant cross-functional collaboration between team members and internal stakeholders
  • Ensures that all Medical Advisors perform their duties in alignment with company SOPs/Guidelines and local laws and regulations
  • Fosters a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Coaches and develops team members to reach their full potential

Education:

  • Advanced scientific degree is strongly preferred, such as MD (or equivalent MB.Ch.B.), PharmD, or PhD in a life science, preferably with clinical knowledge of assigned therapeutic area
  • At minimum, college education degree in pharmacy

Skills Required:

  • Industry experience of 2 years minimum in Medical Affairs is required and in therapeutic area experience is desirable
  • Previous experience as an MSL/Medical Advisor is required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and German
  • Technical skills in Microsoft office, Basic SAP, affinity to mobile solutions
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in high performance teams and in a matrix organisation
  • Ability to negotiate and influence others
  • Excellent team player, who excels at teamwork in cross-functional groups and who successfully interacts with a variety of internal stakeholders at local and global level
  • Customer-centric working approach

Competencies:

  • Experience in direct people leadership and/or lateral people management as project lead with a track record of emotional intelligence in guiding team and/or project members is strongly preferred
  • Demonstrates strategic planning skills including ability to translate them into tactical planning, with a strong focus on execution excellence and compliance
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Listening and coaching skills are strongly preferred
  • Strong ethics and integrity
  • A proactive "can do" attitude and passion for the therapeutic area is desirable

The minimum annual salary for this position is EUR 79.600.- and varies according to the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
